General Information
Overview
Bottar Law, PLLC, is a nationally recognized upstate New York law firm dedicated to the prosecution and trial of medical malpractice, workplace accident, dangerous product, severe personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Founded in 1983, Bottar Law, PLLC, enjoys a hard-earned reputation as one of New York's preeminent personal injury law firms with a history of record recoveries for thousands of seriously injured patients, workers, motorists, consumers and their families, including one of the largest plaintiff's personal injury verdicts in New York State history. For more than three decades, the Firm's legal team has pioneered cutting-edge legal theories to maximize results for its clients, such as the creation of new law in 2003, when the Firm persuaded the New York State Court of Appeals - the State's highest court - to allow expert testimony in support of the res ipsa loquitur doctrine in medical malpractice cases (see States v. Lourdes Hospital, 100 N.Y.2d 208 (2003)).
The Firm is led by members Anthony S. Bottar, a past-president of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and 2009, 2014-15, and 2018 Best Lawyers® In America Syracuse Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year, and Michael A. Bottar, a regional vice president of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and 2017 Best Lawyers® In America Syracuse Product Liability Lawyer of the Year.
From our principal office located in downtown Syracuse, New York, and through satellite offices in Albany, Binghamton, Rochester, Utica and Watertown, our experienced attorneys and skilled support staff serve clients throughout the State of New York and the northeast United States. Over the past three decades, our legal team has helped thousands of patients, motorists, workers and consumers secure just compensation for life-altering injuries, disabilities and losses. In addition to the daily application of more than 100 years of combined legal experience, the Firm's accomplished and civic-minded attorneys hold leadership positions in bar associations, proudly support community organizations, and lecture, teach and publish annually on practice-related topics.
While the attorneys at Bottar Law, PLLC are highly-selective in accepting cases, they do not retreat from meritorious claims simply because they are costly or challenging to prove. Our legal team makes this pledge to the community, and its clients, because our attorneys firmly believe that those who experience a loss due to negligence or malpractice deserve a skilled legal advocate and, when necessary, a day in court. Consistent with our conviction, all cases accepted by the Firm are handled on a contingency basis – which means that we are not paid for our time unless there is a recovery.
